What is Pain?
There she lay in bed,
Feeling the pain screaming out from her every cell,
Every cell from the top of her head to the tip of her toe.
She tried to sit up in vain,
As she felt the pain spread through each nerve in her body.
She felt the gravity pull her down,
The gravity of the pain that made her heavy,
The gravity of the pain that made her weak.
Her head spun from the screaming of all her cells,
She felt dizzy from all the noise,
As the pain blackened out her world.
WHAT IS PAIN?
There she lay in bed,
Thinking about the dreams she had built with him,
The dreams that were nothing but sand castles.
She could feel the pain of separation spread from her heart,
Making every cell in her body ache,
Every cell from the top of her head to the tip of her toe.
The thoughts of him swarmed her mind,
Making her head buzz like a bee,
Making her heart ache from all the sand castles washed away by reality.
She immersed herself in them,
Manifesting them in the form of tears and pain,
As the pain shut her out from the world.
WHAT IS PAIN?
Pain is a nothing but a sensation,
One that arises from your body or your mind.
Pain is like water flowing down your arms,
You can think about it as much as you like,
Or just let it flow harmlessly.
Pain is like the wind blowing across your face,
You could let it blow you away,
Or you could you let it blow past you.
Pain is like a buzzing bee ,
You could make it the center of your attention,
Or you could cease to acknowledge it's presence.
Pain is like a stray thought clouding your mind,
You could let it spread across the surface of your mind,
Or you could let it go.
WHAT IS PAIN?
Pain is a nothing but a sensation,
You could let it sink in or let it flow.
You could let it consume you or let it go.
Pain is a nothing but a sensation,
A harmless one that could cause more damage than you can imagine,
All you have to do is see it as harmless.
Pain is a harmless creation of the body and mind,
One that has been taught to us from a very young age,
It is a creation that could destroy you,
Unless you let it flow and let it go.
The more you think about it, the worse it will get
The more attention you give it, the worse it will get
The more you forget about it, the less of a pain it becomes.
