Colors of the rainbow

It was just another regular day,
And there she stood on her terrace,
Looking down at the world below,
All the moving people and the cacophony,
All the varied colors that define us,
All the varied colors that invoke our emotions.

As she continued to stare at the world below,
The skyline blurred into blocks of colors,
Blocks of colors of the rainbow,
Blocks of pieces of her mind.

She remembered hearing those learned men say,
Say that each color represented a fixed emotion,
But to her they painted a different palette,
For each color spoke a piece of her mind.

V stands for violet-
The color of individualism and imagination,
Violet reminded her of those pretty lavenders,
Each decorated and imagined perfectly by someone for someone.

I stands for indigo-
The color of ritualism and idealism,
The color of precious sapphires,
The sapphires that we value more than our lives.

B stands for blue-
The color of trust and peace,
The color of the endless sky and waves,
Waves that can wash away cities and steal loved ones.

G stands for green-
The color of balance and growth,
The color of camouflage and hiding,
Hiding behind the green grasses when low.

Y stands for yellow-
The color of light and cheerfulness,
The color of the burning heat of fire,
The fire that can provide warmth and also burn.

O stands for orange-
The color of optimism and openness,
The color of Halloween and pumpkins,
The color of prosperity and long life.

R stands for red-
The color of courage and passion,
The color of red eyes with the courage to weep,
And blood spilt for love and passion.

All of these when merged together,
Add up to the purity and truth of white.
The truth that our lives are but blank white pages,
Pages to be written with stories lived by us,
Stories that define us and paint our lives,
Stories that paint our lives with the colors of the rainbow.
