Sonder

This is something I wrote cause the word 'Sonder' in itself has such a unique meaning that it expresses the pith of life

"sonder - n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. Narrated, written, directed, edited and coined by John Koenig"

The word evoked so many thoughts in me that I just had to put them down

Sonder

There she lay in bed,
Hearing the clock tick away,
Brooding over her day,
Letting it all get away.

A tiny speck in the universe,
A group of atoms in the universe,
A being made of flesh and blood,
A heart with stories untold...

A part of the song,
A part of the sonder;
The joy and the pain,
Of the song of the world.

The louder the laughter,
The deeper the pain;
Each deeply connected with the other,
As she laughed loud for hours.

A young boy stood there,
Shyly trying to talk to her,
Thinking about the city he'd left behind,
About his specks of his universe.

While they stood there watching,
Judging him as rude and bold,
As her mind wandered away,
To the soul she had sold.

Tears welled up in their eyes,
And drowned them in the song,
A part of the sonder,
So delicately strong.

She heard her own laughter,
At the driver's grief,
At his daughter's sickness,
At his faith and belief.

She laughed as he slept,
On the bench in a park;
A smile on his face,
A turmoil deep and dark.

He dreamt of all the fights,
And the sleepless nights;
All he needed was some peace,
All he needed was some sleep.

She shut it all out,
She cut it all out;
A part of the song.
A part of the wonder.
