The Sun

This is dedicated to two very special friends who have been with me through thick and thin alike.

A hundred thoughts run through my mind,
Clogging it to its rim,
I gaze out of the window,
And watch my world swirl in my head.

I fix my gaze upon the dipping sun,
Knowing it shall rise again,
No matter what may come and go,
This shall be eternally constant.

A source of energy and life,
That tinges the dull clouds
Bathing them in a golden light
Crowning them in royalty.

I see the sky change colors,
Taking on the spirit of the sun,
Drawing its energy from this sink,
To be filled with vigor anew.

The clouds veil the sun
But it refuses to be shielded,
Shining through the clouds,
Its warmth shining right through.

I feel its warmth seep right through me,
Clearing the haze that clouds my mind,
Making all the colors one,
The color of peace and serenity.
