MELTING HUES

This is the mesmerizing view of sunset from my terrace.........

Have you ever seen the magical colours

As the day melts into the night,

As that ball of fire dips down,

Melting into vibrant hues so bright?

The canvas, originally a brilliant blue,

Is painted with many a wonderful hue-

Each one blended in so perfectly,

And yet standing out, vociferous, boldly.

A pale purple at the bottom,

With a calm crimson topping,

A dazzling red added to the sum,

With a fiery orange finishing.

Patches of colour span the expanse,

Like the nebulae in a galaxy,

The tingeing of clouds so lovely,

So beautiful, it seems a fantasy.

As that ball of fire disappears,

A shroud of inky blue falls,

Slowly dissolving into a pitch black,

As the night’s darkness it calls.

The twinkling stars shyly peep out,

Peering from the night’s blanket,

Reflecting the beauty of the night,

Momentously stealing away your breath.
